New moon setting over forested ridge

This was shot the day after the true new moon, so there is a thin crescent lit. Light reflected off the earth back to the dark side of the moon - "Earthshine" - dimly lights the dark part of the moon. Details of the dark side are not visible because there is still too much sunset light in the atmosphere.
