Winter on a mountain ranch

Near Pagosa Springs, Colorado, on the east side of Wolf Creek Pass. Dark clouds of a snowstorm are moving in across the pass.

The rustic wood and log fences were built by early settlers because they needed only local materials and a few nails.

Ponderosa pines on the flat areas, mixed-conifer and bare aspen on the slopes. This was shot in late February, so I do not know why the deciduous trees appear ready to leaf out.
