Bark of corkbark fir

Abies lasiocarpa var. arizonica. Corkbark fir is a variety of Subalpine fir. It occurs in high-altitude forests of Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. One's thumbnail can be pressed easily 1/4-inch into the bark. San Juan Mountains, Colorado.
