Blizzard in the Chihuahuan Desert

In December 2015, a rare blizzard hit the Chihuahuan Desert at Carlsbad, NM. Prominently visible are Torrey Yucca (Yucca trculeana) and Beargrass (Nolina microcarpa, with the tall narrow inflorescences), with bare mesquite bushes and a few Prickly Pears at the bottom.
