Abstract of sotol leaves

Back-lit photo of a small part of a sotol's basal rosette of leaves. Leaves are yucca-like, green with yellowish edges that are armed with stout prickles. Color scheme is green and yellow.

Dasylirion wheeleri. The stout prickles on the leaf edges distinguish sotol from the similar yuccas and beargrass.
