Mt Hedard winter sunrise

First rays of a winter sunrise catch the top of snow-capped Mt Hedard and the remnants of storm clouds midway up.

Mt Hedard is in southern Colorado, just northeast of Great Sand Dunes National Park.

In the foreground are chamisa, big sage, and bunch grasses. In the midground are Pinyon-Juniper woodland and Ponderosa pine forest.
