Winter moonrise at Mt. Hedard

The golden full moon is rising behind snow-capped Mt. Hedard in the Sangre de Christo range in southern Colorado. The moon is slightly obscured by some thin clouds. Mt. Hedard lies just northeast of Great Sand Dunes National Park, which can be faintly seen at the foot of the mountain below the moon. In the foreground are farms and houses of the San Luis Valley.
