Colorful air vents

Description

These air intakes - part of the building's air circulation system - were originally painted in this spectrum of reds and purples. This building was constructed in downtown Albuquerque NM in the early 1980s. The architects apparently decided to highlight the intakes, rather than hiding them. The round shape and bright colors contrast with the stark straight lines and shapes of the building. The air intakes have since been painted a dull gray.
