The Pajarito Plateau and Jemez Mountains after a snow storm

Description

The Pajarito Plateau, at the foot of the volcanic Jemez mountains, is formed from a deep deposit of volcanic tuff, which is light orange. The plateau has been dissected by streams into a series of mesas, as seen here. The city of Los Alamos is built on a few of these mesas.
